Bishop’s Stortford
Methodist CircuitThe Bishop’s Stortford Methodist Circuit is
made up of two town centre churches and four village churches. It is geographically
spread along a north-south line straddling the Essex and Hertfordshire border,
with Saffron Walden being the main church to the North and Bishop’s Stortford
the main church to the south. The churches are served by one full time
superintendent minister and one part time minister. Many of the churches have
strong ecumenical links, and two of the churches are in Local Ecumenical
Partnerships; one with the URC, and one with the URC and Anglican churches.
Worship is also led by one supernumerary minister and our team of 23 local
preachers and 14 worship leaders. The churches have varying styles of worship
from the traditional to the informal, and an evening circuit café worship
service is held every quarter.
Two of our churches have their own
websites (clicking on the links below

It is with sadness we announce
that Chrishall Methodist Church ceased regular worship as from mid October
2010. However the church is not
closing; the circuit now has oversight,
and is seeking to find a new way forward.
